how its changed my life
After listening to Hamilton for the first time it immediately became my special interest. I was listening to the soundtrack on repeat and it was all I would talk about to my parents and classmates. We were doing our constitution test that year and I used it for studying. For our 8th grade trip we did an escape room, in the room was a zombie actor which wouldn’t move if you sang to him so I gave myself the task to sing Hamilton to him the whole time (I’m so sorry lol). For my 8th grade graduation my parents gifted me tickets to see Hamilton in Chicago later that year. We saw the show in Chicago in November 2017 after a year of obsessing over it.
After seeing it I continued to love it. In 2018, I turned 15 and decided that I wanted my quinceañera to be Hamilton themed, and instead of a surprise dance I did a Spamilton-style performance with some of my friends. Although now I am not as fully crazy about the show as I was when I first got into it, the show still has such a special place in my heart and I am always down to talk to people about it and get them into it.
