Buzzfeed Unsolved consists of two series, Buzzfeed Unsolved: True Crime and Buzzfeed Unsolved: Supernatural. Both of these series are hosted by Ryan Bergara and Shane Madej (The Ghoul Boys), as well as Brent Bennett in the beginning of the series. They ran from 2016-2021 (ending after Ryan and Shane left Buzzfeed).

Buzzfeed Unsolved: True Crime mainly consists of Ryan telling Shane true crime stories on their set, with some instances of going on-site. True crime first and 100th episodes were removed from YouTube, both episodes covered the case of the Somerton Man.

Buzzfeed Unsolved: Supernatural mainly consists of Ryan and Shane going on-site to different supernatural locations. In the supernatural series one of the main draws was that Ryan is a firm believer in ghosts and the supernatural while Shane did not believe in them at all (other than aliens, except he does not agree with popular views of aliens). Fans whose views on the supernatural align with Ryan are called Boogaras, those whose views align with Shane are called Shaniacs, and those who are on the fence are called Coward/Shitfish/Reeders.

I love both Buzzfeed Unsolved: True Crime and Supernatural because of the way that Ryan and Shane interact with each other. Out of the two series my favorite was True Crime, which may be controversial because some people do not like true crime shows but I don’t know I think they do it well. I rewatch both series fully at least once or twice a year, usually at the beginning of the year and then in the middle of the year (I am rewatching True Crime as I am writing this).
